From the research institute's report, the global electric vehicle battery new installation from January to April this year is 182.5 GWh, an increase of 60 GWh compared to 122.5 GWh in the same period last year, an increase of 48.98% year-on-year.
Previously, Ningde Times, the top installed battery manufacturer in the first four months of this year, still had the highest installed capacity of 65.6 GWh, up 55.6% year-on-year, and its share increased to 35.9% from 34.4% in the same period last year.
The second highest installed base is BYD, with 29.4 GWh of new capacity installed in the first four months, up 108.3% year-on-year, and increasing its share from 11.5% to 16.1%.
LG New Energy, Panasonic and SK On ranked 3rd-5th in terms of installed capacity, with 25.7 GWh, 15.1 GWh and 9.5 GWh respectively, up 49.3%, 35.9% and 5.3% year-on-year, with shares of 14.1%, 8.2% and 5.2% respectively. Samsung SDI, another major Korean battery manufacturer, installed 7.5 GWh of new batteries in the first four months of this year, up 28.4% year-on-year, with a share of 4.1%, ranking 7th.
In addition to Ningde Times and BYD, the top 10 EV battery manufacturers in the first 4 months of this year include China Innovation Aviation, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Yiwei Lithium Energy and Xinwanda, with installed capacity of 8.4 GWh, 4.4 GWh, 3.4 GWh and 2.8 GWh respectively.
