OPTICAL LINE CARD
An optical line card terminates network traffic that is being received over an optical fiber interface. The POS (point of service) line card interface provides a direct connection between the router and an external network. Optical fiber cables are necessary to connect the POS line card with the external network
OPTICAL MODULE
Optical modules are the small interfaces that connect the fiber to the traditional copper network, data center, repeater module and most of the end points in optical networks. Their main function is to monitor the traffic over every cable, diagnose failures, and maintain the integrity of the transmission according to industry standards like SFF 8472.
IP PHONE
A "Voice over Internet Protocol" phone allows transmitting and receiving of phone calls over the internet, rather than traditional dedicated telephone networks. This digital device must have internet access in order to work, and may not have a source of power in an outage like traditional phone service.
