[TechW June 7, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet recently that Tesla is happy to license self-driving technology to other car companies.
Musk said that Tesla is eager to provide as much help as possible to other car companies. A few years ago, we licensed all our patents for free. Now we're letting other companies use our Supercharger network. Also happy to license Autopilot/FSD or other Tesla technologies.
Previously, Musk said in an exchange with Ford CEO Jim Farley, "Just as Android as a universal standard may help the cell phone industry, we may open up the source code for more code."
It is reported that Tesla's Autopilot products can be divided into 3 categories, including AP, EAP and FSD. where AP is the most basic version and EAP is Enhanced Assisted Driving.
Tesla's highest level Autopilot product is FSD, the main functions include Navigation Assisted Driving (NOA), automatic lane change, automatic parking, intelligent summoning, traffic signal recognition, (based on navigation route) automatic steering on city roads, etc. FSD has not entered the Chinese market yet.
According to incomplete statistics, Tesla FSD Beta users have driven a total of 190 million miles (about 306 million kilometers).
