MULTIMEDIA ENTRE SYSTEM

A multimedia entry home (or factory) security system transfers live audio and video (A/V) to a remote location, can be connected wired or wirelessly, and would run on very low power if wireless. Internet connection allows the owner/caretaker to answer via smartphone if the “doorbell” is pressed, leaving the external visitor no wiser as to a physically absent owner.

IOT SENSOR NODE

The Internet of Things (IoT) is about interconnecting embedded systems, bringing together two evolving technologies: wireless connectivity and sensors. These connected embedded systems are independent microcontroller-based computers that use sensors to collect data. These IoT systems are networked together usually by a wireless protocol such as WiFi, Bluetooth, 802.11.4, or a custom communication system. The networking protocol is selected based on the distribution of nodes and the amount of data to be collected.

ELECTRONIC THERMOSTAT

Thermostats are used to monitor and regulate the temperature of an indoor area. An electronic thermostat senses temperature, such as with a thermistor or thermocouple, and returns an electrical signal to the rest of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning ( HVAC ) system, indicating which functions (e.g. heating, cooling, etc.) should be enabled.

TWO-STAGE AHU CONTROLLER

An air handling unit AHU ) conditions and circulates air for the purpose of maintaining suitable indoor air quality for people and equipment. "Two-stage" refers to simple binary (ON/OFF) heating or cooling in the form of resistive electric elements or direct expansion (DX) cooling with a closed-system refrigerant. An AHU controller regulates all the different aspects of the AHU system, with the goal of reducing energy expenses while maintaining a safe and comfortable living or working environment. The main functions of an AHU include: heating/cooling the air to a desired temperature, mixing and filtering air to ensure proper air quality, providing enough air pressure for adequate circulation, dehumidification, and sometimes humidification (not to be discussed here).

PROGERAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER

programmable logic controller (PLC) is an electronic device used in many industries to monitor and control building systems and production processes. Unlike PCs and smartphones, which are designed to perform any number of roles, a PLC is designed to perform a single set of tasks, except under real-time constraints and with superior reliability and performance.

OCCUPANY SENSOR

An occupancy sensor is exactly as it sounds: a device for sensing whether an indoor space or room is currently occupied. Many advanced occupancy sensors also detect the number of people present, often by way of sophisticated video content analysis.

POWER OVER ETHERNET

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is the delivery of DC power along with data over short distances of Ethernet unshielded, twisted-pair cables and has evolved from proprietary solutions to inclusion in the IEEE802.3af standard of 2003, and again in IEEE802.3at of 2009 for PoE+. Ethernet data transmission requires two of the four available pairs in standard Cat5e/6 cabling. PoE can deliver power either over the remaining two spare pairs, over the data transmission lines by using signal transformers, or via both methods together for maximum wattage (PoE+). Via PoE, DC power is delivered to devices that are located near Ethernet cables, but where additional standard AC lines are either not possible or not convenient.

POWER LINE COMMUNICATION

Power Line Communication (PLC) allows one to transmit and receive data by floating a modulated carrier signal over existing power lines. The primary benefit of PLC is the ability to use existing infrastructure rather than install new wiring, thus saving space, weight, time and cost as well as providing flexibility in solving problems.

GATEWAY

An industrial gateway (or router) is a rugged device that manages traffic between networks or to the outside world; it connects and directs signals as a central point of network convergence. Gateways are able to dynamically learn newly added network devices as well as the fastest path to networked devices within its reach.
